Avraham Avinu(אַבְרָהָם אָבִינוּ)
Avram(אַבְרָם) named by his earthly father, meaning Av(אַבְ) Father and Ram(רָם) meaning 'Exalted'.
Avram was changed to Avraham by God enabling him to be tested 10 times. In all situations, he came out victorious (Genesis 17:5 בְּרֵאשִׁית יז:ה). The last was the episode of Yitzchak being bound for sacrifice.
God Changed Avram's name to Avraham, taking the letter 'Hey ה' from His own Name and inserted it in Avraham's name and changing the meaning to 'You shall be the father of a multitude of nations'.
Avraham (אַבְרָהָם): אַב (Father) הֲמוֹן meaning Multitude of Nations.
God's plan for Avraham was to be the first and original Shelakim (שליחים Evangelist) bringing rectification to this world and preaching the One True God.
He was the first one to bring souls to God (Genesis 12:5 בְּרֵאשִׁית יה:ה)
This is why we refer to him as father Avraham our spiritual father (Avraham Avinu(אָבִינוּ Our father))
